Abstract:

This lecture gives a perspective overview of pore-generating (or porogenic) chemical approaches toward synthesis of nanoporous materials, covering conventional microporous crystalline zeolites, zeolite-templated carbons, mesoporous silicas, mesoporous carbons, and mesoporous zeolites. A particular highlight is put on the synthesis of zeolite-templated 3D graphene-like ordered microporous carbons. Another highlighted topic is the dual porogenic synthesis of mesoporous materials that are built of microporous crystalline zeolitic rameworks, in respect of their future possibilities of advanced catalytic applications.
