Biography:
Steven H. Liang, Ph.D.:
Steven H. Liang obtained his B.Sc at Tianjin University in 2003, followed by Ph.D. in Chemistry in the University of British Columbia in 2010. Then he started as a NSERC fellow (Advisor: Prof. E.J. Corey) at Harvard University. In 2012, Dr. Liang accepted an Instructor position in the Department of Radiology, Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. In 2013, he was promoted to Assistant Professor. Steven’s research ranges from PET imaging biomarker development to the creation of chemical tools and platforms for radiolabeling that are widely used by other scientists.

正电子发射计算机断层扫描(Positron Emission Tomography,简称PET)是核医学领域最先进的临床检查影像技术,是目前唯一对功能、代谢和受体进行显像的技术,具有灵敏准确、特异性强、无创伤性的特点,是目前临床上用以诊断和指导治疗肿瘤的最佳手段之一。PET可为生物体提供三维的、功能运作的实时图像,其研究涉及化学、生物、医学等多个领域。
目前PET领域的研究核心和难点在于如何直接、高效、便捷地合成显影试剂,标记药物分子。我们团队以“放射全合成”理念为指导,通过发展新的合成药物化学策略,在不改变目标分子结构的基础上实现对活性药物分子及先导化合物的放射性标记,进而研究其在活体内的成像显影信息, 提供标记药物在研究对象(动物或人体)中的药物动力学和药效学的信息。本次报告的内容将围绕PET 放射性化学研究展开,即从有机合成方法学入手,探讨新型的标记方法,用以标记神经传导分子、活性天然产物、药物、多肽或蛋白质抗体,进而获取活体实时成像数据,定量地研究药物靶点的生物信息。
